Hello!
Welcome to my first blog post. I intend to create a series of them where I’ll ramble about some different patterns/behaviours in nature and how we can use it in motion design and computer graphics in general. I’m not a scientist nor a mathematician, but I’ve always been inspired and amazed by those natural phenomena. Since I’ve started my journey as a 3D designer and animator a couple of years ago, I’ve been exploring them and using them in my works. First comes the sine wave. Here I’d like to gather my notes and processes. I hope you enjoy!
What is the sine wave?
A sine wave is a smooth, periodic oscillation that occurs naturally in many physical phenomena, from sound waves to light waves. In computer graphics, it’s a mathematical curve described by the sine function, often used to create animations, generate patterns, or simulate motion. Its simple, looping shape makes it a versatile tool for adding rhythm and fluidity to visual designs.
